Making and Managing Meadows: A PollinateHV Event

Tour a three-acre pollinator meadow seeded in 2023 as part of our PollinateHV initiative, and compare this first-year meadow with established fallow field meadows elsewhere on the property.

Learn about the best native meadow plants to support vulnerable Hudson Valley pollinators and become familiar with meadow seeding and management techniques for various scales: hand-seeding, drill-seeding, mowing timing, and more.

We’ll also discuss the best site preparation techniques to transform hayfields, farm fields, and lawns into pollinator meadows. This tour will take place at the Gallatin Case Study Site.
