Know your project vision and your community’s needs before you look for any grants. Write a concept paper before you begin.

Think critically about how well a grant matches your vision - a grant decision matrix can help!
During the application process, start with the budget. Be aware of grant matching requirements, and know that reporting staff and volunteer time on a project can be time-consuming!
